Today you will see many people suffering from various health deficiencies.  Different health deficiencies are caused due to lack of important nutrients such as minerals, vitamins or amino acids in our body. The essential substances are present in our body but our body fails to absorb them, in that condition health deficiency is caused.

At least ten minerals, ten vitamins and ten amino acids are necessary nutritional elements that should be present in human diet, and absence of any one of the nutrients may cause health deficiency. When adequate amount of essential nutrients are not present in our body many diseases are caused such as scurvy, rickets, anemia, beriberi and many more other diseases.

Vitamins and minerals are very much important for proper functioning of the body system. Here are some of the health deficiencies caused due to different vitamins and minerals:

Vitamin A – The deficiency of vitamin A causes dryness of eyes that leads to night blindness, slow down the human growth and deformation of teeth may also occur. It also causes dryness in the skin.

Vitamin B – Beriberi is caused due to vitamin B1 deficiency. Insufficient intake of vitamin B2 causes skin chaps around the nose, mouth and eyes.  Deficiency of vitamin B6 results in skin diseases and anemia. And vitamin B12 causes pernicious anemia and slow down growth of the body.

Vitamin C – Deficiency of vitamin C causes scurvy, internal hemorrhage, loss of weight, osteoporosis and many disorders of gums and teeth.

Vitamin D – Lack of vitamin D causes osteoporosis and also causes rickets in small children.

Vitamin E – Vitamin E deficiency causes sterility.

Vitamin K – Due to lack of vitamin K, the body stop synthesizing prothrombin which results in failure of blood clotting and thus minor cuts may result in copious bleeding.

Sulphur – Deficiency of sulphur may stop some metabolic processes in our body.

Calcium – Weakness of bones and teeth are due to lack of calcium. The lack of calcium may also cause osteoporosis.

Potassium – Deficiency of potassium causes weakness in the muscles and may even lead to paralysis. Brittleness of bones, heart ailments and sterility may also cause due to lack of potassium.

Chlorine – Joints stiffen and bones become weak if there is deficiency of chlorine in the body.

Iodine – Iodine deficiency leads to goiter.

Sodium – Deficiency of sodium may cause nausea, headache, muscles disorder and slow body development.

Iron – Iron is the main component of hemoglobin and anemia is the biggest symptom of iron deficiency.

Along with vitamins, human bone marrow also needs iron to produce red blood cells and hemoglobin. Some of the symptoms of iron deficiency are pale appearance, fainting, tiredness, fast palpitations, head ache and many more. Iron deficiency is mainly found in pregnant women because due to lot of blood loss during menstruation.

Health iron deficiency

Health iron deficiency can be stop by including  eggs, meat, green leafy vegetables or other iron containing food in our diet.

So, eat food containing essential nutrients to remain healthy and free from any health deficiency disorders.
