Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

Are you sure enough that you are not a prey of the ovarian cancer, the silent killer or are suffering from the symptoms of ovarian cancer? Check yourself if you are suffering from an abnormal vaginal bleeding with an irregular abdominal pain or similar symptoms.

Cancer is a deadly disease that is not just limited to certain regions of the world, but is spread throughout the boundaries. In fact the cases of cancer and the corresponding deaths caused by it are on the rise. Many scientists have attributed it to the life styles of people today. However apart from excessive un-healthy diets nothing has been concluded to be the pin pointed causative agent. Even the diet specifications are also subject to much debate. Basically cancer occurs when bodily cells mutate and grow uncontrollably. This uncontrolled growth is abnormal and it results in a variety of complications. However ovarian cancer happens to be specific to women and hence ovarian cancer symptoms can only be identified in women.

So what are the symptoms of ovarian cancer? Many papers have been published on symptoms ovarian cancer and yet there is no solid proof that guarantees a symptom to definitely cause ovarian cancer i.e. the symptoms of ovarian cancer have not been properly identified. On the other hand the progress associated with the ovarian cancer stage has been significant. With regard to the ovarian cancer stage – there are 4 stages. These 4 stages describe the progress of ovarian cancer.

Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

The main problem with the symptoms of ovarian cancer is that they do not clearly emerge until the full onset of the disease. Hence it has been named as the ‘silent killer’. However with respect to the symptoms the general consensus is that of – bloating, abdominal pain, pain in the back or legs, breathing trouble, abnormal vaginal bleeding, diarrhea, constipation, difficulty in eating, pain during intercourse, frequent urination etc.

As mentioned before, these symptoms don’t provide or nail the causes of ovarian cancer with pinpoint accuracy, as many of these symptoms are associated with other kinds of diseases.

Cancer is a very dangerous disease, and without doubt one of those diseases that claim the most number of human lives every year. Most people think that cancer has no cure. However, the truth is that if cancer is detected early enough – it can be prevented.

Then again, there are two kinds of cancers – malignant cancer and benign cancer. In the former case, the cancer spreads to different parts of the body and can eventually results in death. In the latter case, the cancer is very much localized which means that it can be completely removed surgically. Colon cancer is a type of cancer that is associated with the colon and rectal area of the body and is differentiated into the different colon cancer stage. In order to gain a better understanding of colon cancer – one has to know the colon cancer staging. So what exactly is colon cancer staging?

Colon cancer staging refers to the different stages of colon cancer progression which includes of the stage 4 colon cancer and stage iii colon cancer. The importance of stage 4 colon cancer and stage iii colon cancer is that before these stages most forms of colon cancer can be easily cured or in the worst case the patient will be able to survive for a long time.

During stage iii colon cancer, the cancer cells or cancerous growth starts to invade the nearby lymph nodes. However it would not have spread to other parts of the body yet.

Stage 4 Colon Cancer

During stage 4 colon cancer, the cancerous cells would have started spreading to different sites in the body, like the liver etc.

From here on it’s rather difficult to treat and in most cases treatment techniques – will weaken the individual to devastating amounts. In many a way; the patient just survives.
